It is situated on the shores of this beautiful lake with Mt Edwards on one end and Mt Greville on the other. Because this year’s venue is around 150km from Lismore we have added an extra day so working members can come up for the first Saturday and Sunday to do 2 full days of activities.
The Park offers a range of powered and unpowered sites, one cabin ( 6 beds) and there is a 3 bedroom house, 3 mins drive away( 10 places – 1 queen bed + 2 rooms with 1 double bed and 2 single bunks). Full amenities are provided. We will put up the club tarp for a meeting place. For further info including photos just click on the link. You will find the accommodation rates listed on the website. Please note we are going off season and there are discounts available (Group, Seniors).
Activities on offer include a 3 day off track pack walk, a full programme of day walks on track, and short scenic walks for others. There will be kayaking on the lake ( kayaks can be hired or we may have some club kayaks there) and there are lots of easy cycling routes in the area (the magnificent Queen Mary Falls to the old Killarney pub comes to mind straight away). A self drive pontoon boat holding up to 10 persons can be hired for fishing or for that romantic sunset champagne dinner. The lake is stocked with Australian Bass, Perch and Cod – a Fisherman’s Paradise. Boonah, a great country town with good coffee and eateries is within easy reach by road. 4WD routes are situated in the area. There is so much touristy stuff to do–see the activities page in the link.
Opportunities for walking include nearby Mt Edwards, Greville and Moon; Cunninghams Gap, Spicers Gap and Mt Barney NP. So many tracks to choose from – there is potential for a full programme of easy and harder grade walks.
